In 2008 I co-founded your daily thread, L.A.'s neighborhood guide to conscious living. Since then I have been covering the environmental movements and "green" scene that takes place in Los Angeles. My access with your daily thread, has allowed me to enter this community and learn so much more about what to do to help the environment than just reduce, reuse, recycle.
I am a graduate of UC Santa Barbara with majors in Anthropology and Communications. My time living on the beautiful Pacific Coast help grown my appreciation for the environment. Upon graduation I spent eight months traveling through out Europe with just a backpack. This experienced helped me realize how little we need to take with us and from the Earth to live balanced lives. Living in Europe also instilled an interest in local cooking & ingredients, aka Farmer's Market's that we have here. Lastly it showed me what life is like with out a car. I grew up in Los Angeles, where everyone has a car. It was an amazing experience to be free of it, and also realize that I didn't really need one.
I am a conscious environmentalist, but I am a practical person too. I still drive my car, I still get take out food, but I try to educate myself and other on ways to alter our behaviors so that we can make as minimum of an impact on the planet as possible.
