Eco Tech: Lotus develops ESS to make electric cars roar
Ecofriend — ... dubbed ESS or Electronic Sound Synthesis that will enable drivers of electric and hybrid cars to select the engine noise of their choice. The gadget collects road speed data from the car’s ECU and converts it into an engine note which is then pumped out through speakers in the cabin and wheelarches.
