... A set of 10 Finalists will then be selected by the judges for final judging LIVE on stage at the Greener Gadgets Conference on February 27, 2009 in New York City. (Finalists are not required to be in attendance.) Winner and runners up will be determined at the event though a combination of on-stage judging panelists and live audience votes.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria: innovation, clarity of design, originality, form and presentation.

Power Hog Piggy Bank Teaches Kids About Saving Energy

Obviously older kids would quickly figure out how to bypass the pig, but we think the Power Hog would work with the younger set, and could help spark a family conversation about energy costs and conservation. No word yet on whether the Power Hog Piggy Bank will make it into production, though we hope its high showing in the Greener Gadgets competiton is a positive sign.
