Peak Oil News — ... as land-use planning to reduce car use, and also for signing on to join California’s efforts to obtain stricter tailpipe emissions rules, though those stricter limits are now being adopted nationally. Maine’s rise, according to the report, was attributed to a variety of increased efforts, including those of Efficiency Maine, a program of the Maine Public Utilities Commission, as well as the “adoption of building energy codes, land-use planning management, and other activities.” NY Times
