The International Day of Climate Action on October 24, 2009 got a tremendous response worldwide. The global campaign was organized by 350.org around a scientific data point that demands politicians and nations to adopt the 350 ppm of safe carbon dioxide goal at the UN Climate Talks in Copenhagen in December. It included walks, marches, rallies, bike rides, sing-a-thons and retrofitting of houses. On this particular day, over 5,245 coordinated demonstrations occurred in 181 countries.
